Our partnership with The Eve Appeal has been in the pipeline for most of 2009 after our Marketing Manager spotted The Eve Appeal key chains and wanted to know more. Redbush Tea coincidentally is an entirely female run company and although this has happened unintentionally it does mean that we have a natural desire to promote and help The Eve Appeal.

The Eve Appeal was set up to save women’s lives by funding groundbreaking research into gynaecological cancers. Its vision is one where fewer women develop and more women survive gynaecological cancers.

Gynaecological cancer is the world’s fourth largest cancer killer of women. There are one million new cases per year worldwide. This figure is just 200,000 fewer than the number of women who are diagnosed with breast cancer, yet the breast cancer five year survival rate in the UK is 80% compared with under 35% of women who survive ovarian cancer for more than five years.

There are five types of gynaecological cancer - ovarian, womb, cervical, vulval and vaginal and every day in the UK 50 women are diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer.

In addition to our sponsorship; during Spring 2010 Redbush will be donating 1p from every special Eve branded box of Redbush Tea sold, to The Eve Appeal. These will be available from Asda, Booths, Budgens, Holland & Barrett, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Waitrose, Co-operative Society and all good health food shops.

Maye time for tea is The Eve Appeal’s flagship event and involves thousands of people across the UK holding and attending tea parties in aid of the charity. Redbush are donating tea making kits for tea parties as well as a raffle prize.
